Jack Thomas: Engineering Hall of Fame - 1998

Jack Thomas had an outstanding career in the utility business. He began as an engineering intern with San Diego Gas and Electric in 1957. In 1972, he became vice president of the electric division and in 1991, he became President and Chief Operating Officer.

During his years of major responsibility the productivity, rates, and customer satisfaction were tremendously improved for this one million plus customer company. Mr. Thomas has had extensive roles in community service with the San Diego community. He is a past president of the Pacific Coast Electrical Association. He graduated from OSU with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1954.
